Life being named after a vegetable is not always easy, but it sure is interesting. Hi, my name is Cale Ledford, and I am currently a Staff Assistant in the Office of U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA). Previously, I served as the Press Intern in the Office of U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-DE).
I am a native of Dalton, Ga., a small town in the Appalachian Foothills of Northwest Georgia. Dalton is better known as "The Carpet Capital of the World" with some 85% of carpet in the United States and 45% of carpet in the world being manufactured in my hometown.
Neither one of my parents was afforded the luxury of a college education. Instead, they worked blue-collar jobs, and taught my older brother and I the true value of a day's hard work. That same blue-collar value of working tirelessly to keep the lights on, and put food on the table is a value that I strive to bring to work every single day in the United States Senate.
In college, I was fortunate to receive a full-tuition ride to the University of Georgia through the Zell Miller Scholarship. I graduated cum laude with my Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, with an emphasis in public affairs, in May of 2024. I'm a proud first-generation college graduate.
In my two roles in the Senate, I have been fortunate to work alongside two fast-paced and dynamic communications shops. Both of these roles have helped me utilize my passion for good public policy to bring strong deliverables for both of my teams. Someday, I hope to become a Communications Director in the U.S. Senate. For now, I am eagerly searching for a junior staff communications role here on the Hill.
Until then, thank you so much for reading more about me. If you would like to learn more, please feel free to reach out!
